NNPC signs 10-year arrangement to supply 100mscf of gas/day to Dangote refinery

 


The NNPC Gas Promoting Restricted (NGML), an auxiliary of the Nigerian National Petrol Company (NNPC) Restricted, has executed a Gas Deal and Buy Understanding (GSPA) pointed toward providing 100 million square cubic feet of gas each day to Dangote Petrol Processing plant and Petrochemicals FZE.


Olufemi Soneye, Boss Corporate Correspondences Official, NNPC, spread the word about this in an explanation got by BusinessDay late Wednesday.


As per him, the arrangement was endorsed by Justin Ezeala, overseeing chief, NGML, and Aliko Dangote, President/Chief of the Dangote Gathering, on Tuesday, at the Corporate Administrative center of Dangote in Falomo, Lagos State.


Soneye expressed that the GSPA framed the stock of gaseous petrol for power age and feedstock at the Dangote Processing plant, in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.


He further expressed that the arrangement was in accordance with President Bola Tinubu's approach of using Nigeria's plentiful gas assets towards redoing the country's modern development and launching its financial success.


He said, "This turn of events, which sees an immense venture of this nature written with zero capital consumption (CAPEX) expense, has been depicted by a lot of people as phenomenal throughout the entire existence of NGML or any gas Nearby Conveyance Organisation (LDC) in the country.


"Under the provisions of the arrangement, NGML will supply 100 million standard cubic feet each day (MMSCF/D), 50MMSCF/D being firm stock and the rest 50MMSCF/D interruptible petroleum gas supply to the processing plant for an underlying time of 10 years, with choices for recharging and development.


"This joint effort is a critical stage towards guaranteeing the functional progress of the Dangote Processing Plant and improving Nigeria's homegrown gas use.
